We agree that working with – and for – kids is one of the things that makes working at Akron Children’s so special. Our employees are special too, and that’s why we make communicating with them a priority. We have a mix of both one-way and two-way communication channels, including: our staff intranet (myKidsnet), weekly Shortsheet e-newsletter, weekly online chats with our CEO (who also sends a biweekly email update on current topics to all staff), weekly COVID update email (with embedded video for key messages) and more. As a nurse, we encourage you to take advantage of other opportunities to obtain the information you’re seeking. These include our monthly Nursing News e-newsletter and update from our chief nursing officer, as well as our shared governance for bedside nurses, which provides opportunities for growth and mentorship in leadership roles and facilitates communication, collaboration and coordination of nursing and other health care functions. We also hope you’ll reach out to your manager and peers for the information you’re seeking.

Management isnt very receptive to ideas re improvement, salaries are not equivalent to workload, AI is used far too often
