Pros
The pay is great but is not different than any other job of this type. I have worked at smaller companies that pay better but the industry regulates the pay not the company you work for for the most part.
Cons
Where do I begin? The management is so out of touch with what is going on in the field and if they know they sure don't tell anyone else. The industry as a whole is uncertain (you can't predict the weather) but your job performance and job prospects should not be up in the air. The lack of communication is astounding. No one knows how to train. To get a job promotion you have to be in the right place at the right time or know someone who is. I have seen people promoted based only on the relationship that they have with the person making hiring decisions. The company is in good shape and continues to get business. But to be on the inside looking out it makes you wonder how they are successful. There are several other companies that do the same as Worley and I would suggest that you make sure that you are signed up with as many as possible.
