Pros

Awesome people to work with. Great potential for growth if you start at an entry level position like support. Fairly nice office location outside of the busiest parts of Boulder.

Cons

This company desperately needs a new CEO. My guess would be that the happiness of employees at this company directly correlates to how often they have to directly interact with him. Unfortunately, he micromanages every department so it's hard to avoid him. Don't get me wrong, he is a super nice guy when it comes to non work related things and I think he means well but as far as work decisions go he is extremely erratic and fickle. Fairly often he makes decisions that have a large negative impact on his employees happiness and generally these decisions are completely unnecessary / don't work. This type of management may have worked when the company was small, but it's large enough now that this type of behavior does way more harm than good. If he could convince himself to step back and hire a CEO that trusts the managers this could be a great company again. PS - The building is an open office structure which sounds like a good idea but is perhaps the worst trend in business history. #bringbackourwalls

Hi! Thanks for your feedback! I understand your perspective. I'm sure I do sometimes seem erratic. I think you made the right decision in leaving the company. I don't say that because you disagree with my management. Instead I say this because you & SurveyGizmo were obviously not a good fit and you'll be happier elsewhere. I wish you great luck out there! In terms of your feedback, I'll keep an eye on seeming to micromanage. I don't micromanagement as much as I used to - teams for whom I trust the manager have almost complete autonomy provided they work off my strategy and road map. Strategy and road map are my responsibility (both as CEO and Owner) -- and I do ask for projects to be completed to my satisfaction. That's also my right. If an employee such as yourself doesn't like my style, decisions, strategy or the direction of the company it's a perfectly valid decision to leave the organization. I respect your decision to leave, I only wish you had decided earlier so you could have been happier. However, as far as the CEO leaving... well, hmmm... awkward... I'm also the owner. So that's not terribly likely to happen unless I sell the company. In terms of manager input - that depends strongly on the manager to be completely honest. If the manager is well aligned with my strategy and works well with me then I absolutely work with them and listen to them. Good luck on your future pursuits! Thanks again for your feedback and perspective on SurveyGizmo!

Pros

Great people in the sales organization.

Cons

The product team and some in leadership are disconnected from the market. Probably aren't the right people to grow Alchemer, especially in the AI age. New products don't work and are delivered a year behind schedule. Tough to hit the target when you have nothing to sell.
