Being in a highly regulated industry, the necessary policies can make simple changes take weeks to months. The organization is so large and new-hire development/integration is so lackluster that information is extremely siloed, further slowing projects and improvements. When enountering and issue for which a solution is readily available, it often takes days to even find the right resources (responsible team members) that can address the issue, not to mention the weeks it takes to get responses, actions, and approvals.
