Pros

The first year are so working with the company I really enjoyed. It was really fun and interesting and I learned a lot and met a lot of different people. You do get flight benefits but it isn't totally free like other airlines. Great place to get experience in customer service. One huge thing that I admired about the company is how smart upper level management is. Hearing why the company did things a certain way was brilliant, brilliant enough for me to buy stock in it. A prime example of this is why they don't serve free soda. many other airlines do but the price is already built into your ticket price with other airlines. Also usually most people don't drink it all and so there is more waste and with more waste come more fees for disposal.

Cons

Allegiant contracts much of their jobs out to contractors who are in constant bidding wars over who can do it for cheaper. which then in turn hurts the lower level employees such as managers and agents. As a budget airline they are constantly trying to become more efficient which is great but it is now to a point where the more efficient they try to be the more it hurts lower level employees. They're always trying to do the job with less people or equipment. Jobs that many other airlines have 40 people to do while Allegiant uses only 6 with the exception of base cities. Station employees are constantly being left in the dark when things don't go according to plan such as delayed flights. most of the time passengers will get updates about the status of their flight before we would. Another prime example with Allegiant cutting corners is when it comes to wheelchair passengers. They supply minimum amount of wheelchairs to stations and takes months of pulling arms to get more. This may not seem like a big deal but when you have 5 nearly broken wheelchairs and on average 8 passengers in need of one it becomes a serious problem, especially when you have to move people in and out of wheelchairs. This takes additional time which delays the flight but also it takes away one of those already scarce employees to handle the problem. This is all because allegiant doesn't want to pay for more wheelchairs let alone a company to actually handle all wheelchair passengers. Another con, a plus maybe to others, is the flight frequency. From a business stand point it actually is brilliant only flying certain days. It increases your odds that the flights will be full. However, from an employee point of view it can be frustrating. Some days you have no flights, some days you will have four back to back with no break, some days you will have 3 flights with an hour to 4 hour break in between which allows you to collect yourself for the next flight but unless you want to spend the whole day at the airport you have to use up for gas and the fact that you are in a sense committed to working for say 12 hours but are only getting credit for 8. In conclusion Allegiant expects their lower level employees to do a lot, put up with a lot, and just deal with it. Depending on if you work for a contractor or allegiant directly your pay can vary anywhere from minimum wage to $15 and hour. there will be many days you feel like screaming, quitting, and crying.

You would have a varied schedule.

Cons

You work a flight and immediately turn back around to go back. You're on the plane all day. There's no time to step off.the plane to get food or snacks or just to walk around.

Cons

The customer care department can be an incredibly challenging environment; success and growth here depend entirely on an individual's personal focus, resilience, and daily effort.
