Pros
The Allen Institute is used by many startups to boost their credibility and notoriety. So, it was great to work with a startup that got backed by a large institute. The people were very nice and the schedule was flexible.
Cons
Since you are working with startups, it's a mixed bag. You cannot rely on all of the reviews posted on Glassdoor. There were many things that didn't align with my experience. That said, my position was not what I was looking for. The title implies I was a research assistant, which means I would work directly with scientists or a researcher. Instead, I was glorified salesperson. I was soliciting people to join our study at a clinic and downtown Seattle. Though it wasn't unpleasant per se, it was not what I was looking for.
