We work on hard, interesting and exciting projects. The researchers and engineers on the team are top notch and passionate about what they do. The environment is very collaborative and supportive of individual learning. Favorite perk: very regular lectures by visiting scientists. Helps keep an open mind, often feels like we are a mini university.

Cons

Look for what *meaningful* projects and research have come out of Ai2 in the last two years. They used to be research and academia focused and made AI for the common good a priority. When they changed CEOs they became product focused and went all-in on LLMs. Internally their structure is extremely disorganized and chaotic and they're quietly laying people off. They have a few projects, like EarthRanger, that have a measurable impact in the world but EarthRanger didn't originate in Ai2 and doesn't utilize AI.
