The cons are drastic. I was not informed at all about the stressors and strenuous actions that I would be required to do. It wasn't until after the 2 weeks of training did I realize how strenuous and abusive this environment is. Staff is overworked, underpaid, and burned out. These kids deserve to have the best and utmost staff and they do not have qualified staff. You will get punched, choked, kicked, stabbed, spit on, bit, and hit and that's to say the least. Therapeutic interventions are not realistic and the restraints that we have to do, we are not trained well enough for it.
