Pros
The individuals you sit next to each day are fantastic, intelligent, hardworking and motivated. The ability to take on a lot of responsibility in a short amount of time. For someone who likes a fast paced environment with a large amount of transnational work, this is a great place to learn. Good benefits from a cost perspective to the employee.
Cons
Private Client is a boy's club and Senior Management has created an environment that is mico-managed and impossible to have a voice or opinion. Unless you are Sales or in Senior Management, there is no track for career progression. They do not value long term employees and the lower levels turn over about every two years. Its a shame that a Firm filled with wonderful people can have a dismal because of the way the company is run from the top. Also, forget work life balance and taking a lunch. If you are not in your chair by starting time on the dot you will hear about it. Additionally, it is expected that you work through lunch and instead of encouraging this, Senior Management looks down upon someone who consistently leaves for an hour for lunch.
