Pros

It's better than a retail job and you can zone out on your work. Just don't stay here long. Use it as a step to better jobs.

Cons

Management can act more like camp counselors or college RAs which leaves you feeling talked down to. The pay is low and doesn't get any better. They send out surveys to hear complaints and take suggestions but they are rarely actually enforced. Numbers matter more than you. Most conversations feel like fake sincerity just to get to what the person wants. The people who stay here long term are the people who want to stay comfortable in their position and never really grow.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. It is important that we hear these concerns, and our monthly survey offers employees an anonymous platform to provide feedback that is thoughtfully reviewed by management. We have consistently taken some feedback and results of those surveys and made improvements. We continually strive to create an environment that promotes open communication between all departments and roles that it is collaborative, professional, and respectful. Our virtual policy is an option for most employees, however, the flexibility of this program may vary based on department, role, and experience level. If you wish to provide further feedback or have ideas on how we could help you thrive in our working environment, please email us at humanresources@alliedbenefit.com.

Pros

This is definitely one of the better-run departments at the company. I found the management to be good people overall and the work itself is varied enough to have stayed interesting. Did not plan on leaving. If you like writing emails all day long instead of being on the phones, this is an excellent job for you. Could be stressful but typically was a breeze and it was very educational in terms of learning about the TPA/insurance industry. Company is remote-first which is awesome, we were not expected to travel as a job duty in this role.

Cons

Honestly most of the gripes I had were with other departments' inefficiencies. We lost a lot of people at once and the workload was moved around which increased the stress but I can't really blame this on the department. Some of the higher-ups we worked with could be rude to other CSRs but were usually respectful to me. There is an out of office inbox that is always a mess, that was likely the most stressful part of the job besides sometimes dealing with angry B2B clients. The clients however were usually respectful, too, provided you answered them promptly. I didn't feel there was much room for me to move up, however, I would have been happy in the same role anyway and they do have senior positions for basically the same role once you've been there for a while that would come with a sizable pay raise and conversation to salary.
