Cons

Literally ZERO training and very limited support of the development of employees. Managers make it known they are only interested in themselves and the higher up. Super toxic work environment, managers are really unprofessional, and make offensive comments. Most are overworked and underpaid. Looking back this is a terrible place to build a career as there is little room for growth. They will have you doing a million different things at once, no clear processes, procedures, and role guidelines. Doesn't matter how loyal you are, how many amazing reviews you get, every promise made to you about your career growth & pay increase is a lie and won't happen. They take advantage of those they can. They'll just string you along for all your worth until they screw you over. HR is also awful & beyond unprofessional, has no idea what they are doing. Hard to trust many people here.

Pros

This is definitely one of the better-run departments at the company. I found the management to be good people overall and the work itself is varied enough to have stayed interesting. Did not plan on leaving. If you like writing emails all day long instead of being on the phones, this is an excellent job for you. Could be stressful but typically was a breeze and it was very educational in terms of learning about the TPA/insurance industry. Company is remote-first which is awesome, we were not expected to travel as a job duty in this role.

Cons

Honestly most of the gripes I had were with other departments' inefficiencies. We lost a lot of people at once and the workload was moved around which increased the stress but I can't really blame this on the department. Some of the higher-ups we worked with could be rude to other CSRs but were usually respectful to me. There is an out of office inbox that is always a mess, that was likely the most stressful part of the job besides sometimes dealing with angry B2B clients. The clients however were usually respectful, too, provided you answered them promptly. I didn't feel there was much room for me to move up, however, I would have been happy in the same role anyway and they do have senior positions for basically the same role once you've been there for a while that would come with a sizable pay raise and conversation to salary.
