Pros

Good people, many, many long-term employees 25+ years supporting a strong agency force. Financially stable, profitable company. Flexible work hours. Short term development opportunities to work at H/O in Northbrook. Feels like a family.

Cons

Even with flex start times, many exempt employees regularly work 10-12 hour days with no allowance for comp-time. As a result,work/life balance suffers. Always looking to trim expenses, educational opportunties/tuition reimbursement are often not approved. Workforce reduction over the last 5 years in the agency force as well as the regional support office has hurt morale. Salaries are average or to below average for the Seattle area. Senior management displays cliquish attitude.

Pros

There appeared to be a lot of pros. Could leads lots of opportunity to sell different things. And the backing of a large company.

Cons

I went through the entire interview process, with the assumption that I would be working for allstate. Second day of training, I was informed that I was going to be part of the national general group. Basically, everything that was told to me during my recruitment was not correct.Because it was a whole different ball game..a whole different company. Commission structures for this group have been slashed four times in the last two and a half years. Within a year and a half of my group getting hired, there are less than five people left for my hiring class.
