Pros
Had an excellent culture of employees and opportunity. Was a great place to learn.
Cons
It used to be an honor to work here. Then Sears spun us off into its own Shareholder-owned company in 1995. Slowly the great loyal company with many long-term employees began to slide downhill to the mess it is today. Employees became like bodies working on the pyramids. The old timers got targets on their back and let go methodically but they made it look good by laying a few younger ones too. Others would get fired for minor infractions. Experience didn't mean anything anymore. You made too much, get out. Raises were pretty much non-existent. Outsourcing got to be the norm. We don't need American employees! Benefits began to suffer too. To survive you had to suck up to middle-management who had no clue. It is a shame to see what happened here.
