Pros
Base compensation was above market for job duties, probably a necessity to attract and retain people in recent years.
Cons
Immense red tape, in part due to receiving TARP funds, has led to indecisive leadership and poor communication from senior management. Incentives have not been paid anywhere near target in the past three years regardless of individual performance. GMAC doesn't provide the necessary resources to complete the required objectives and doesn't reward employees who pull together to get the job done anyway.
