Pros
The pay is decent but not industry leading. A little better than other call centers but not what a bank should be considering how overworked we are.
Cons
They expect everything from you and don't give you any respect. We take back to back calls for angry customers all day, are heavily pushed into overtime, can't even use the restroom, and are not treated like adults. I started this job in 2020 when it was remote and was pretty satisfied. We were a supplier before and joined Ally in December and it was great for the first few months. I made effort to participate and enjoy the inclusive and progressive culture we push and was very happy. They called us back to office in April and I had not reported to that office before. I had been in once or twice to pick stuff up but that is it. I can't believe they expect us to work in that dirty disgusting building. I have been asking my supervisor for months what the plan is and my concerns are always downplayed. They keep saying fluff words but nothing happens. I have been pretty nice about it but consistent in sharing that it is gross and makes me uncomfortable to sit in there every day. The bathrooms leak dirty water everywhere and there are sharp broken tiles and broken desks and cubicles. Half the chairs in the lunch area are 30 years old and broken. There is deep crust engrained in the floors from never being cleaned. The carpet is dirty and dusty and ripped everywhere. We don't have any sink for our lunch dishes. We don't have any clean outside break area or a decent refrigerator or microwave. I really try and give my all to this position and company. I have always exceeded my metrics and been a team player. The past few months my performance has tanked. How am i supposed to concentrate and help customer's when I am unhappy sitting in filth all day to work and being scared I am going to get sick from the black dust caked on the cieling and falling out of the air vents. I go to take a brea k to recharge and come back feeling worse because there is nowhere clean or decent in the building to go an recharge. I just don't understand how they don't take our concerns seriously and nobody will tell me who I should report it to. The head leadership here is rude about it and treats us all like bad employees no matter what we do. I leave work everyday feeling miserable and defeated now. Every morning, I have talk myself up to go in and sit there holding back frustration and concern. They do pay $20 but it isn't worth your mental health being in this awful toxic environment. I wish higher leaders from corporate would come visit and see how bad our environment and leadership is here and how they speak down to us and won't help us. I told them so many times that I have been getting sick from the heavy construction going on in the building. They still make us come into the office when we could do the job from home until they can provide a safe work place. I have had breathing issues ever since I started going back 6 months ago and they still don't care. I can't believe they treat people so disposable. I called the county office just to see if they even had the correct authority to be doing all that while people are working and they told me their is an asbestos investigation happening in the building which is why. Apparently their is a permit number with the county for DEM2022-00288. It just isn't worth it to be so miserable and I thought this was a good company.
