Pros

Ample parking. Spacious lobby. Starbucks onsite.

Cons

This place is degrading rapidly. The number of employees who have no idea how to do their job or what best practices are is frightening. The standards are incredibly low. I have worked here for years and have seen this place degrade. Ally makes it very difficult to do a good job. It is embarrassing to work here. I have never worked at a company that is so disorganized. We have employees who love to play dress up as if that brings value to their role. The same employees have no clue as to what they're doing. Resources are minimal and non existent. Search for anything on Pulse and the first results are outdated documents for the 2010s; ancient stuff that is no longer relevant. HR is huge yet for anything you are forced to reach out to an offsite call center staffed by call center contractors, not Ally employees, that eventually respond. Facilities barely cleans the bathrooms. IT is a mess and setup your computer to crawl if you turn down their advances. Getting into the building is always a hit or miss; from broken parking lot gates, to non functioning badge readers, to the occasional broken elevators. We must not have enough money since the HVAC is set to swampish. There minimal ventilation in the bathrooms; the stench is atrocious!

Pros

You get a bi-weekly paycheck.

Cons

The culture has tanked under new leadership over the last couple of years. It’s cutthroat, senior management keeps swapping out experienced leaders for their own people, same values, same bottom line only mindset. No one actually knows what they’re doing because everyone’s expected to do everything and own the fallout when it doesn’t work. Decisions get micromanaged or made behind closed doors about your own team, with no input. There’s constant pressure to cut expenses, and the target seems to double every month, at this rate it feels like the end is inevitable. Layoffs happen a few times a year now, two years running, and leadership straight up tells you it’s the new norm, so get used to it. Everyone knows it, everyone talks about it, and everyone’s living in fear. On top of that, you’re expected to work 12 hour days and answer emails on weekends, then get told you’re still not doing enough. It’s demoralizing. This is an awful place to work, and with the job market this bad, people can’t leave even though everyone’s looking. Feels like a sinking ship, and they deserve it for how they treat people.
