Pros
One of the biggest pros of AlphaSights is the culture. It is a very engaging place to work because people are like-minded, driven, and genuinely open with one another. Some of my closest friendships have come from working here, and I genuinely feel excited to come into work because of the people I get to do the job with. It is also a place where you become a very strong communicator. The role pushes you to build confidence quickly, and my communication skills have improved massively, to the point where I would feel comfortable walking up to the CEO of a company and starting a conversation. That is the kind of skill that stays valuable in any career. On top of that, career progression is very clear and transparent, with a visible performance framework that makes it easier to understand how people are differentiated and why promotions happen.
Cons
On the flip side, one of the main cons is that it is ultimately a sales job, so you are working towards monthly targets and are accountable for your end-to-end results. That means the experience can feel quite cyclical across the year, where some months are very strong and other months can feel dry. The pressure of that can definitely be challenging. That said, one thing I would add is that management is generally very supportive and does not leave people out to dry, they do help you work through difficult periods and stay on track with targets.
