Pros

The people really are fantastic. Because you're put in a position in which you'll be interacting with potential advisors on a daily basis, they only hire people they know have solid interpersonal skills. As a result, it's a really social space. Coupled with the fact that they're increasingly only interviewing high-caliber academic individuals leads to an impressively social and smart work environment. It's also exciting that they are fighting to keep the startup vibe alive. From the get go the MD said to all of us that if we weren't finding a way to try and make the company itself more efficient and valuable we weren't doing our job.

Cons

At the end of the day, your primary role can be closely likened to working in a call center if you let it. Unless you work hard to really get a grasp on your project (the background, the players, etc) and actively try to learn as much from it as possible, it can quickly become repetitive. Because it's so young and has had incredibly high retention, there's some uncertainty about next steps for analysts that don't want to continue moving up the ladder. Finally, pay is not where it needs to be at all to be competitive with other internship offers.

Pros

AlphaSights has an incredible culture and a highly supportive environment. I recently celebrated four years with the firm, and I've truly enjoyed the combination of high support and high performance. I have a great deal of autonomy in my role, work alongside an exceptional team, and continue to learn and grow every day. I'm so grateful that I started my career at AlphaSights.

Cons

I've truly enjoyed my time. N/a

Pros

Rapid Progression & Recognition: Performance is directly rewarded here. If you hit your goals and show drive, the path to promotion and career growth is transparent and fast. Strong Team Culture: The team energy is fantastic. Everyone is highly collaborative, supportive, and commercially minded, which makes for a great working environment. High Autonomy: From day one, you are given real ownership over your projects (like leading recruitment events, managing candidates, and driving partnerships), allowing you to grow your commercial skills rapidly.

Cons

High Velocity & Pressure: The work is very fast-paced with strict timelines and high-volume expectations. It is not a place where you can coast, and you need to be comfortable working under commercial pressure. Resilience is Key: Sourcing and recruiting require a great deal of resilience. You have to be comfortable with rejection and persistent in finding creative solutions to hit your targets.
