Pros
As I embark on my 5 year anniversary with Altar'd State I can't believe the incredible path I have traveled. Does internal promotion exist at Altar'd State?!... ABSOLUTELY! I started my adventure (definitely an adventure) with Altar'd as a brand representative that worked once a week helping with visual aspects. Today I am a Store Manger of one of the prominent stores in the company. Altar'd did not just hand me this position... I had to work hard for it, but they rewarded me with their continued support, encouragement, and most importantly FAITH. Have there been growing pains... YES. Every company has them. Its how we learn from our mistakes and strengthen our core. The important part is that their aware of these issues and have worked hard to correct and improve. In the last year a 5 year sabbatical was implemented (yes...I am dreaming of my Australian adventure as we speak) a Student Debt Repayment plan and an opportunity for associates to travel to PERU to give back (my bags are packed!!!) All of these opportunities are so incredible but... hands down... my favorite part of Altar'd State is their continued partnership within the community. Mission Monday has changed my life... (no this is not an exaggeration) I have had the opportunity to work with some of the strongest women during our partnership with Compassion that Compels. This organization gives Compassion bags to woman who are battling all forms of cancer (I could go on and on about this organization but will save it for its own review) Last year I was lucky enough to join Compassion that Compels and Altar'd State at our local cancer treatment center where we gave out over 50 bags to woman who were currently being treated. It was the most humble experience. Bottom line... Altar'd State has given me more opportunities than I could have ever imagined. I have made life long friends, gained a sense of ownership, and personally had a chance to make a difference in our community. It hasn't been an easy 5 years... but boy has it been worth it.
Cons
Altar'd is constantly growing and opportunities are popping up everywhere... the problem is that internal candidates are sometimes the last to know about these positions. I would love if Altar'd could implement a system where internal candidates were notified first and then the general public. I'm sure this is already in the works, but is something I strongly believe in! Also... hurry up and go international ;) (my passport is ready)
