Pros

The environments this company builds are beautiful and well thought out. They really put thought into where and how they place their stores.

Cons

Absolutely no work life balance, they preach family and community but work their staff to death. This leads to poor management because the only people who can make it with the company are unkind bosses who abuse power, not leaders. The executives have very misguided understandings of retail management and execution and store managers abuse power. They make promises they can’t keep and do not pay their staff fairly, promising amounts they can’t give. I highly recommend staying away from this company and taking your desire to do good elsewhere.

Thank you for your recent submission. We appreciate your feedback and will always utilize these reviews to better understand how we can improve both the guest and associate experience. As you know, our Store Managers work an average of 43 hrs per week outside of hectic holiday periods. In addition, we provide our stores with the hours needed to deliver an exceptional guest experience. This past year, we promoted 16 Assistant Store Managers to Store Leader positions which is a testament to our passionate and talented teams. We hope that during your time with the Company you were made aware of the many incentive and benefits programs including competitive pay, bonus potential for all associates, paid time off and volunteerism hours, "Give Back"trips" for associates to travel abroad, and both external and internal education programs to grow our associates. We also are excited to announce the recent launch of a Student Debt repayment program, aimed at reducing our associates' student loans, reduction of medical premium costs and paid 1 month Sabbatical programs to refresh and reward hard working . Thank you for allowing us to share these enhancements to the associate experience and we wish you much success in the future!

Pros

Literally nothing, can’t think of one positive thing

Cons

I’ve been with the company for years and watching its continuous downfall has become almost comical. Two years ago we took major pay cuts (like 15%) because of the economy but this year they sent us to the Virgin Islands on this over the top meeting that must have cost a fortune. I’d rather have the money in my bank versus a trip I was forced to go on with senior leadership that are absolute horrific people in general and evil businesses people. It all felt like a big propaganda event with tons of videoing and picture taking so they could come home and post all over linked in and social media about how WONDERFUL it is to work there. Don’t even get me started on the new Little House on the Prairie denim dresses we have to wear because they hire managers that aren’t even strong enough to coach to a dress code. How can you run a store if you can’t even tell someone what they’re wearing inappropriate? Instead now we look like a bunch of little followers of the cult everyone already says it is. As long as we say we “stand out for good” at every opportunity it must mean it’s true right? To know who else brainwashed people into thinking bad things are good for them? CULT LEADERS.
