Pros

I do NOT have anything positive to say.

Cons

The work-life balance is zero. You WILL never work less than 45 hours a week, even fully staffed. There's always some operation task that will require an early morning or late night. The two hour closes rule, is ridiculous! You are required to be there until 11PM everyday. The recruiters and upper leadership will say the company has all these values and work-life balance but, what you'll soon find out is its just like any other retailer, they DO NOT care about their people. The clothing is cheap quality with a huge mark up. The clothes fall apart in the wash after one cycle. The stores are halfway structured, the company is so focused on the give back that they take from the salary and stores maintenance to ensure this is done. Communication is all over the place. There's not a true training program in works, instead just a check list; this includes managers. Do not waste your time with this company!

Thank you for your recent post and we appreciate you sharing your experience Our Store leaders work an average of 42-43 hours weekly and schedules typically are posted weeks in advance so that our associates can balance life and work. We pride ourselves on beautiful in-store displays, windows that are breathtaking, and associates who love on our guests. The two hour close allows associates to recover and replenish the store so that associates are not folding, cleaning, and putting merchandise on the floor when guests are in the store and deserve our attention. We are surprised by your comment on salaries as we are one of the most competitive in specialty retail. We recently returned from spending a week with every store manager in the Company at Disney World so that we could celebrate and appreciate them. We wish you much success in your future career search, however it sounds like you may want to consider a career outside of retail and providing guest service.

Pros

Literally nothing, can’t think of one positive thing

Cons

I’ve been with the company for years and watching its continuous downfall has become almost comical. Two years ago we took major pay cuts (like 15%) because of the economy but this year they sent us to the Virgin Islands on this over the top meeting that must have cost a fortune. I’d rather have the money in my bank versus a trip I was forced to go on with senior leadership that are absolute horrific people in general and evil businesses people. It all felt like a big propaganda event with tons of videoing and picture taking so they could come home and post all over linked in and social media about how WONDERFUL it is to work there. Don’t even get me started on the new Little House on the Prairie denim dresses we have to wear because they hire managers that aren’t even strong enough to coach to a dress code. How can you run a store if you can’t even tell someone what they’re wearing inappropriate? Instead now we look like a bunch of little followers of the cult everyone already says it is. As long as we say we “stand out for good” at every opportunity it must mean it’s true right? To know who else brainwashed people into thinking bad things are good for them? CULT LEADERS.
