Pros

Really nice smart teammates, company appears to be about the employee, and really nice offices.

Cons

Work life balance isn’t always there. The company switched to a Flexible time off (FTO) model this year without really properly training managers on the shift in behavior. Many managers afraid of employee abusing an “unlimited” pool and will not approve more than one vacation request at a time even if the current request is for a few days only. The managers will cite “it’s too hard to plan around that far in advance”. Like someone else said…there’s not much room for internal growth. It’s a lot of lip service about there being opportunities and they will consider current employees first. Truth is they don’t want you to move out of your current role. This company likes to promise a lot and not deliver. They will dangle carrots to make you stay but you’ll never get it.

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your experience with Alteryx so far. First, what you say about work-life balance is so important. The companywide week off in February and the most recent Mental Health day are two more recent examples of Alteryx’s commitment to supporting a healthier balance of work and home for our employees. Creating a culture where people can take the time they need, when they need it is a goal we must all strive for. People & Culture will continue to reinforce this message, while also monitoring to ensure the message is being heard across the organization. At the same time, we do recognize it’s much easier to accommodate time off during certain periods of time throughout the year so I encourage you to continue working with your manager to plan and agree on a time off schedule that meets your needs. To your second point, about growth, this is another priority for us. We are working to improve our internal recruitment both from a process and cultural standpoint. It is very important that people here are able to grow within their role or elsewhere within the company. Thank you, Doniel Sutton Chief People Officer

Pros

-Strong technical talent and knowledgeable colleagues who genuinely know the analytics/data space -Product still has real technical depth and a loyal user base, but the move th AlteryxOne is causing renewal issues -Historically solid brand recognition in the data/analytics community

Cons

-Repeated rounds of layoffs have left remaining staff stretched thin and anxious about job security -Since the PE acquisition, decisions feel driven by short-term financial targets rather than product or people -Leadership has changed multiple times in a short window, with little continuity or clear long-term vision communicated downward Trust between employees and management has eroded — morale is low and turnover (voluntary and involuntary) has hollowed out institutional knowledge -Culture has shifted from collaborative to guarded; people are protecting themselves rather than working openly -Communication from leadership during restructuring has felt reactive rather than transparent
