Pros
Fantastic culture. Autonomy. Talented peers. Challenging work. Customers are incredibly passionate about the product. If you do a great job there is a lot of room for advancement. Excellent benefits. Work/life balance. Layoff package itself was very fair and helpful. I really enjoyed working there and was saddened by being laid off. I'd work there again if I had the chance.
Cons
Historically Alteryx was incredibly thorough with new hires (to the point where the former CEO would do a final check-in with the majority of the final candidates), and were very good about letting egomaniacs and control freaks go once they showed their true colors. However in the last year, something shifted and some incredibly toxic hires in Customer Success department really put a damper on the culture. Management and HR was made aware but HR actually relayed confidential conversations to the toxic employee and the situational details made it clear who talked to HR (multiple people went to HR). As a result the toxic hire retaliated by bullying and gas-lighting and trying to manage out the people who had anonymously went to HR. Not only that, but talented, tenured people left the company due to the toxicity of these hires and Alteryx took far too long to do something about it. Additionally, while its clear that layoffs are happening in the tech space, the process was very cold and transactional. I understand you need to remain neutral in these situations - but HR could do better than being late to the meeting, reading off of a script, and having IT immediately cut off your access. We're all adults here - I'd venture to guess it's rare that someone goes berserk and spams their peers or does something destructive. Because of this process, not only did I not get to say goodbye to my reports and peers, they also had the discomfort of answering the question of "where's XXXXXX" on meetings and calls and having to inform their peers that I was laid off.
