Pros

Very supportive of continuing your education, actually required it. I know one person that was getting their MBA paid for. Worked with great people, projects were fun and rarely boring. Company did value diversity very highly and hired large numbers of women and minorities. All of my direct managers , men, women and/or minoritites were extremely good and very professional.

Cons

More money than good sense. Came up with silly projects that would not work. Marketing came up with ideas that were outlandish and too expensive for the market place and the engineers had to make them work. Upper managment frequently out of touch and got bounses for projects that later were failures but never had to face consequences.

Pros

Salary is very generous for it to be a “sales” position. You get a company car that you can use any time for any purpose. Completely eliminates the need for a personal car payment. You’re left alone to do your job as long as you’re doing your job correctly. Support and recognition from leadership has been top of the line. This isn’t your typical sales position where you must meet objectives or else you’re ran out of the company. The brand sells itself and if you can’t sell the product Altria carries, this probably isn’t the job for you anyway.

Cons

The only con so to speak would be the workload that we have but if you’ve ever worked for a large corporation, you know objectives change almost daily. Yes, it can feel overwhelming at times but coming from a cut throat sales environment, I’ll take this “pressure” all day every day.
