Pros

- Company has prestige, no doubt about that. - Compensation for the first 2 years are great for L4. - Ownership over things is a great perk - you can create the experience you want to get out of this place. - If you make yourself a favorite to the right person, you can move up quickly. - Dog-friendly offices - There are some cool people here. When you find them, stay close to them, try to get mentored, and be open about wanting to get promoted!! - Promotions are earned through hard work, not given, but it's a grind and you get put through the ringer to get it.

Cons

- I'm sure this depends on the org + leadership but the fact that your sign-on bonus ends in 2 years leads to an anxious culture around getting promoted before you lose this income. - Crabs in a bucket mentality where people are trying to do projects and side work (often times poorly) to get the spotlight and get promo'd. I've seen projects and ideas get stolen or ripped off so be careful who you trust. I've also seen new favorites get handed impressive projects to work on to further their growth while senior reps get forgotten. Some people win by putting others down. - There is def a sweet spot. If you aren't a favorite and on track to be considered for promo by the end of Y1-1.5 (crushing metrics, working on cool projects), move teams or update your resume. - Your experience is really dependent on your manager. Beware: those anxious about their next promotion may focus less on your growth and more on their own visibility. - RTO5 - No commission - You'll probs be super stressed all the time, but some people you work with came from more demanding jobs at worse companies so Amazon is the best gig they've had so far and you'll get gaslit and your concerns will be dismissed.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
