Pros
They are top dogs when it comes to low-price, high-functionality embedded devices and cloud services. Fast release cycle times provide multiple opportunities to learn quickly without the drawn-out 18+ month product cycles at smaller companies. They do a good job of hiring smart people. When people are good, they're really good. Better compensation than non-FAANG companies.
Cons
Management is a literal crap shoot. Most are emotionally intelligent and can balance the needs of the team and the needs of executives. However, you can also get really unlucky where they will make your life an inescapable hell. Compensation is below-average within the FAANG club. They outsource a lot of work to China/India/Mexico, so it introduces unnecessary friction (language, culture, and time zones). I had no idea the politics were so bad, and the whole company is in a >1 year holding pattern as we're effectively not hiring anyone in the US.
