Pros
Job is good overall, get to work on a lot of different machines. Acquire a wide variety of skills over time since our plant is smaller and sometimes only one guy on at a time. Pay is very competitive and 401k match is excellent.
Cons
Took away extra Sunday pay, vacation is not good. At 14 years still only get 2 weeks vacation, was supposed to get it at 8 years but took that away during merger. That means no increase in vacation for 13 years. Shift work can be tough on body. When I’m at my 14th year I’ll have 3 more days vacation than a new employee after 1 year.
