Pros

None! The pros: yeah, there aren't 20 words to fill in this spot other than idle chat to fill the space. Oh, you can gain a few friednships out of the experience with colleagues. I can say that, but the sad thing is that everyone has the same outlook on this bleak dungeon of a workspace we endure day in and day out...

Cons

This is one of the worst companies I have EVER worked for! The pay is so low that I have had to resort to a second job to make ends meet due to only receiving a 14 cent raise in three years - yes, 14 cents! What a slap in the face and only for management and corporate to continue adding more and more responsibilities to expect you to complete within an 8-hour period each day. Not possible: a regular work day for me as well as many of of "regular" employess is 9-10 hours per day with rarely a time to leave the desk to take an actual break - instead, in order to try and complete our "required tasks" we eat at our desk and still get stuck working late. SPIRIT, yeah, what is that - this is non-existent in this corporation. It is all a facade to make middle and upper management look good and keep money in thier pockets. And to note: us "regular" employees DO NOT get bonuses! This was also taken away from us a few years ago and to note my location has the highest census/volume of any other office in our region (at which corporate bases everything for us the same as a tiny office - um yeah, does that make any sense yet will not allow us to hire additional help to adequately handle workloads...!!!! Oh yeah, and the inclement weather: yes we had inclement weather last year and it specified in the handbook, yett corporate literally re-worded in an email to indicate we would nto get paid for this and we would have to either take PTO or not get paid at all. Really? So you are going to word it to suit your "set interest" to not pay your employees who already struggle from paycheck to paycheck? Oh and forget every going to HR about anything because will certainly either get swept under the rug or it gets turned around on you and then you get in trouble! Everything about this company is a sham - we are treated like slave labor and there is no incentive. Low morale and hostile environment. Poor Management AND too many managers calling shots - oh and mind you pawning their responsibilities on to regular staff! I could keep going on and on... So, I absolutely DO NOT recommend this company for anybody at anytime no way! You get sucked in and promised all sorts of things at interview only to realize early on how big of a mistake - HUGE mistake you made by making the decision to work for Amedisys! The sad thing is that we get stuck here indefinitely until (if ever) somethig better comes along, but with lack of decent jobs (without having to commute a minimum of 2-3 hours a day) this is our prison sentence...

Pros

- I love being able to make my own schedule and see patients on my own time. - I love the care center hospice team that I work with. My DOO (Director of Operations) is very kind, a team player, and encourages the team to be their best. - Insurance benefits are also a plus (Blue Cross/Blue Sheild).

Cons

- I don't enjoy having to drive around and to far distances to see patients. Also, don't enjoy when patients and family members cancel visits because I won't get paid unless I make the visit. - Upper management doesn't care about the well-being of the local care center employees. Upper management puts to much stress on the DOO for stats and productivity quotas. - Upper management is cheap and doesn't contribute money to celebrate their employees like with a Christmas party (local care centers have to bring pot-luck style food and throw their own Christmas parties).
