Pros

The major pro is above average pay for hourly and commission around $1400-$2200 extra a month. Vacation time and sick time is plenty. 4 hrs accrued for sick per month and 15.33 hrs per month for vacation plus you can purchase extra 40 hours of vacation to use throughout the year.

Cons

Job security. With recent loss of cobranded cards our positions are feeling pretty insecure right now. They just laid off the entire 2nd floor of fraud to go outsourced. Also, micromanaged with stats and with the down turn of bad decisions Amex is making it's impacting our scores and commission. They have an attitude of "what are you doing wrong". Instead of "what is Amex doing wrong". Reps payout is based on how likely the card member will refer but with latest changes with the company it's highly unlikely. Plenty of vacation time but they don't open days for you to ask off and they aren't hiring to make it easier flexibility for existing reps to not be "wait listed" for time off. Never and team meetings, coaching or socializing with colleagues. They have you chained to your phone for the whole 8 or 10 hour shift aside from breaks and it's always back to back calls. Burned out easily. Health benefits are outrageous and high deductible insurance which is lame for such a "prestige company"

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
