Pros

Flexible work environment. Unsurpassed training opportunities.

Cons

Mediocre managers move around often and never get caught being ineffective, dishonest, or just plain stupid. Arrogance in the management team. Back stabbing common. Retirement "benefits" cost over $1000 per month for two in health insurance premiums. Their carelessness cost me my life insurance policy because someone didn't do their job. Not a huge surprise. The company lost its' soul and heart at some point. Ken Chenault used to be a good business leader and a good guy. Power corrupts and he is the perfect example.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
