Pros

Personally, what sets Amex apart from the rest are the kind of people that you work with. You make lifelong friends, confidants and amazingly supportive and understanding peers. Work is tough, but paid training and peer support are key to help you succeed. You get to work with talented, smart and successful colleagues who are willing to share their best practices as well. On the remuneration part, they pay really well above the market average for any given role. In a way so much so that it's hard for you to find another job that pays better than here (at least from Malaysia perspective). Your job here typically covers shift and travel allowance. Your bonuses are paid fairly. You get additional benefits such as dental, insurance, paid training, housing and car loan subsidy and the list goes on. Lastly, every diverse culture, background, ethnicity or gender is welcomed.

Cons

Realistically, there will be some forms of bias, politics and favourism among colleagues. But that's human nature. It's still balanced by winning framework and regular coachings, check-ins. Overall, in most roles in Amex, your performance is measurable and it speaks louder than words. No company is perfect, but overall Amex is a safe choice for exploring a long-term career.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
