This is no different than working for Herbalife or Avon. It’s an MLM sales job, which they will try their hardest to sugarcoat through the application process. Also, do not take this job if you cannot afford to go months without a paycheck. They will not warn you of this either. Once you’ve made it past your unpaid training (which will also run you $300 out of pocket for your insurance license, which I was told I would be reimbursed for and NEVER was), your job is telemarketing to people who absolutely do not want to hear from you and have likely been called dozens of times already by other agents. Between getting yelled at, you will schedule appointments to deliver “no cost benefits” to them. They have no idea you are trying to sell them life insurance until the very end of your presentation, at which that point they will likely become angry because they were under the impression that they were only getting free benefits. Essentially, this job is 90% angry people and 10% tricking dumb people into buying a horrible life insurance policy. If you have any heart or soul, you will not feel comfortable selling policies to these families, as AIL targets low-income, undereducated families who don’t know any better. They will also hire literally anyone, so don’t buy it when they try to make you feel special for getting this job. If you want consistent pay, meaningful work, and reasonable hours, this is NOT the job for you.
