Pros

Get a take-home paycheck of approximately $500.00 the first week. Started on Monday had my first paycheck by that Friday.

Cons

In charge of a "book" or an already established clientele of approximately 200 clients one has to collect from depending when the client wants the agent to visit their place of residence. However, the few that are bad payors take up a good 30 to 45% % of time an agent has to collect from rest of policy holders. Management does not care and insists, in a not so subtle way, that an agent still "badger" these ppl on a daily basis. Also, if, after a period of about 4wks from date of hire the clients already in said book choose to cancel policy that book is in a "decrease" of whatever the premium was and the agent is responsible for replacing that amt. If not, the agent is in a decrease and it is looked at negatively by the company. Also, if a policy holder that pays through their checking acct. defaults on their monthly premium, the agent again has to "visit" these ppl and try and ask or convince these to reinstate their automatic payments and if the reason for the default is because they aren't interested in keeping the policy, then, it is the agents responsibility to "convince " them to stay usually by exaggerating the "benefits" they will be giving up. Some of these clients live as far as Camp Bullis area and Elmendorf. During training, which usually lasts about 2 weeks, it's real smooth sailing and is primarily spent in the svc area or "debit' abd no way gives a real picture of what the job truly entails until one has been in a few months. During training time is usually spent collecting and selling. It is very important to understand that, while one us selling and accumulating commissions and does not reap the benefits of that until after about three months, one is getting the previously mentioned take-home pay($500) base pay and, if, one decides not to stay, the company keeps all hard earned commissions. Finally, the company expects one to be in every morning from Monday through Friday at 8am during the first year. Also, they "encourage" agents to work Saturdays a few hrs if not they will "ask" why? I also need to mention one is not compensated for gas spent chasing after these payors until the end of the year. The usual amt of time required to do a "good" job and perform the basic duties required by management and company is 12hrs- no matter if management tries to portray otherwise. Remember, one is dealing with sales ppl and management that has learned the art of bs to paint whatever picture they want to reach their and the company's objectives.

Wonderful co-workers and upper management.

Cons

Understaffed Allowing toxic management to remain in their role. Not indicative of all management as most are excellent.
