Pros

Residents are amazing, CNAs and Nurses are awesome Ability to move up to higher positions is there

Cons

HIGH turnover rate. Morning meeting lasted 2+ hours every day, leaving no time to do your job. Staff to resident ratios are dangerous for both patients and staff, especially in the Cottage. Activity aides are basically extra CNAs, leaving no time for them to do their real jobs--entertaining and providing stimulation to the residents. Turnover was so bad the ED constantly asked me to work 3rd shift as a CNA after working 8+ hours (I was NOT certified!) You are basically on call 24/7, 365. I NEVER made more than $27,000/year as a director, which is insane. Expectations are absurd and impossible to meet standards.

Pros

The coworkers are amazing and make the work environment enjoyable. The residents are wonderful to work with and are one of the best parts of the job. Management does a great job planning fun parties and activities, and there is usually a lot of staff involvement, which helps create a positive and engaging atmosphere.

Cons

Management can be somewhat inconsistent. Employees are often recognized for their work, but there are times when micromanagement creates unnecessary stress. Pay is below what many similar positions offer, and communication between management and staff could be improved. Greater consistency and clearer communication would help employee morale and retention.
