Pros

Really nice office, and amenities are great(thanks to Irvine company)

Cons

I must say I was thrilled when I initially joined this company and I even went as far as to stick it out for a agonizing 6 months. The first thing that triggered me to get out was the fact that this company sends out a mailer that advertises a line of credit that most customers never even make it to. They are deceived by a fake credit card that says “AmericorExpress”, and everyone that calls in initially thinks it’s an American Express card (mind you that most of the people calling in are either very old, or even in most cases deceived by the look-a-like credit card because they don’t speak great English). There is never a line of credit ever offered mainly because they require you to make payments higher than most are able to(the consumer is better off just paying their minimum payments to their creditors), if you ever miss a payment you might as well say goodbye to your money as well as your credit score because at the end of the day they convince you to stop paying your creditors. I can’t even express how many different consumers called to cancel either because they realized they were lied to, or called to complain and get their money back because they realized they could do bad all by themself. Between consumers calling me and shedding tears due to being ripped off, and the others calling to give me a piece of their mind I realized that it was best to part ways. Most of the people that sign up for the program are made to believe that they are able to draw on the line of credit because of the 10 page script each sales person is forced to read verbatim(it’s more like 10 pages of an excuse to read to every single customer to explain why they aren’t able to get a line of credit up front or ever for that matter). Everyone that is in the sales department seems to make no money, and they aren’t shy to admit it. This company lacks morals and truthfully the pay is no where near what they make it seem. Even on a good month at best you may make 3k(they are quick to make you pay the company back if someone cancels months later)and itjust isn’t worth jeapordizing your ethics. I wish anyone that transitions into this company the best of luck, and those who enjoy sleeping without a guilty conscious, BEWARE!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry that you were not happy here! There are several items in your review that are of concern to us and we would like to have the ability to address them directly. 1. Our marketing is based on several financial indicators for those consumers that will most benefit from our product. In no way do we target people of certain ages or ethnicities. We work with people from all age ranges and all ethnic, geographic, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds. Our goal is to help people better their financial situation. 2. We do offer a line of credit and have funded more than a hundred of them since clients first became eligible to receive it in July. The line of credit comes into the plan at the 15-month mark. Because July marked the 15 month since we started selling the product, it makes sense that no one receive the loan before July. As more and more clients hit the 15-month mark, more clients will be eligible for the loan. Just like any other loan or line of credit, not every client is going to be approved to receive it due to underwriting guidelines, in fact, we have a brand-new Underwriting Department to start managing the loan process for the hundreds of clients that are now eligible. 3. We never take any fees from the clients upfront and they are not in any danger of losing any of their money if they cancel or miss payments. In fact, we often work for 6 months or more with someone before they pay any fee to us at all. I wouldn’t call that a “quick buck”. Our clients will always save money with our program and we work hard to help them save as much as possible. If our product does not save the client money, we don’t take them on as a client. 4. We have a lengthy script because we go over every detail of our program on a recorded line to ensure that all of our clients understand how everything works, what to expect and how they have to participate. We have you, our Client Services Reps, complete Compliance calls with every client as well to make sure that the Sales Reps are saying the right things. 5. Regarding our Sales Reps and their income, we had 23 sales reps (almost 1/2 of the floor) make more than $10k in commissions in the month of August. That is a pretty significant amount of people. The numbers are posted on the monitors for everyone to see, so there is no sugar coating or fudging the numbers. $3k is what the lowest performing sales rep might make. It’s unfortunate that the Client Services Rep position was not the right fit for you. We would be happy to speak with you directly about the issues you had when you worked here to see how we can alleviate some of these misunderstandings. Please feel free to reach out to me at hrfeedback@americor.com to discuss your concerns in greater detail. We hope that you found a position that it truly rewarding for you and wish you the best of luck with all future employment endeavors!

We're glad to hear you had a positive experience at Americor and appreciate your kind words about our culture and training program. We invest significant time and effort into creating a training experience that helps new team members feel confident and prepared, so it's great to hear that it was valuable to you. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the remote work environment. While remote work provides flexibility, we recognize that it can sometimes feel less connected than an in-office setting. We continue to look for ways to strengthen communication, collaboration, coaching, and engagement so employees feel supported regardless of where they work. We wish you continued success and appreciate the time you spent with us. The Americor Team

Pros

Low barrier to entry, if you can talk to people, you can do this job. You'll get a ton of reps with real clients in real financial situations, and the commission upside is legitimate. Strong months can clear $20K+

Cons

The hours are long and the emotional weight is constant, your clients are in crisis by definition, so you're absorbing that stress daily. Management just adds to that stress. The fees are steep, and it's on you to get clients to accept them. The hard truth is it's usually their only viable option, but that doesn't make the conversation easy.

We appreciate your thoughtful feedback and your recognition of both the opportunities and challenges that come with helping clients navigate difficult financial situations. You're absolutely right that our Debt Consultants play a critical role in our success. They are often the first point of contact for clients seeking help, and the trust, empathy, and professionalism they demonstrate every day have a direct impact on our clients' experiences and outcomes. We also recognize that working with individuals facing financial hardship can be emotionally demanding. Supporting our clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives requires resilience, compassion, and dedication, and we are grateful for the work our team does each day. Your feedback regarding management support and continued investment in our consultants is valuable. We are continuously evaluating ways to enhance training, coaching, resources, and career development opportunities to better support our employees and help them succeed. Thank you for your contributions to Americor and for taking the time to share your perspective. The Americor Team
