Pros

Americor was an awesome place to work in terms of growth, the really cool people, and the technology that I learned to utilize for my position. I started working at this company with fairly low IT knowledge, but my manager Jose was very knowledgeable and helped me get a grip of understanding networks, system deployments, user management, security, and many other factors in the the IT world. I can't thank him enough. I met some of the coolest, friendliest people in all departments. Having the ability to work in two of the Irvine offices and communicate with hundreds of different people on a daily basis really strengthened my people skills as well.

Cons

The turnover, mediocre pay (unless you are in sales), expensive healthcare, no 401k and feeling my position become stagnant and less relevant made me leave. I've gotten the skills I needed to further myself into the career that I have chosen and decided to move on.

Pros

Low barrier to entry, if you can talk to people, you can do this job. You'll get a ton of reps with real clients in real financial situations, and the commission upside is legitimate. Strong months can clear $20K+

Cons

The hours are long and the emotional weight is constant, your clients are in crisis by definition, so you're absorbing that stress daily. Management just adds to that stress. The fees are steep, and it's on you to get clients to accept them. The hard truth is it's usually their only viable option, but that doesn't make the conversation easy.
