Pros

Good co-workers, working remote is always great, hours are reasonable

Cons

Management is lazy and unaware, IT is hilariously inept and unqualified, HR is not a safe space and is hostile to anyone that brings up any actual issues, and overall this company does not care about you. After dedicating 3 years to this company, trying very hard to grow and get promoted twice, and really wanting to improve all of the systems and practices, I got laid off unexpectedly. Not a month warning, not a week, not even a day. An email invitation, no title or description, to a meeting 30 minutes prior. Due to restructuring and reorganization. After getting my yearly raise and being promised a bonus. A raise that they never wanted to give me prior when promoted to a supervisor position, because I "made more than every other supervisor" yet it was still far below what I made as a negotiator.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how difficult this time is, and it’s never easy to part with valued team members. Please know that the decision was made with great care, and though it was not a personal reflection on any individual, we recognize the deep impact it has on each person affected. These steps were necessary to ensure the long-term health of the organization, though that doesn’t lessen the challenges for those involved. We’re deeply grateful for your hard work and dedication, and we wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors. Thank you again for your time and contributions to our team.

Pros

Low barrier to entry, if you can talk to people, you can do this job. You'll get a ton of reps with real clients in real financial situations, and the commission upside is legitimate. Strong months can clear $20K+

Cons

The hours are long and the emotional weight is constant, your clients are in crisis by definition, so you're absorbing that stress daily. Management just adds to that stress. The fees are steep, and it's on you to get clients to accept them. The hard truth is it's usually their only viable option, but that doesn't make the conversation easy.
