Business Outlook
Pros
The development team culture is very relaxed and fun to go into everyday. The team has to support more applications than there are developers, so each individual "owns" a handful of applications and they become the expert and goto man for anything that happens or will happen to that software. You will have the freedom to make application-level design decisions and the guidance to get a consensus on the best way to implement those decisions. Often you set your own deadlines. The state of technology is rapidly changing and evolving.
Cons
Lots of working with legacy code in languages you've likely never used. What you should be spending your time on can at times differ from what management feels is important.
