Pros

Benefits are good. There was some nice co-workers whom I became close with but that's about it. There is really nothing else nice to say about this office (Bethel) so I am just trying to use the 20 word minimum here.

Cons

Honestly all of the good reviews on this site about Amica are 100% from the management that write fake reviews because there is no way someone would write good things about this company. The management is truly truly just god awful. It is a bunch of kids right out of college who have a superiority complex. They believe their job is to micromanage everything they do and want to try to flex their authority as much as possible. If you get stuck with the bad direct manager your life will be just awful the entire time you work there. I have never heard a manager belittle people the way she did. Not only that but one of their main jobs as "manager" should be to speak to customers when they call to complain. This girl (fresh out of college) never, not once spoke to a customer, instead she was in another manager's office with her feet up, talking about her weekend. There is just so much bad to say about this office I don't even know where to start. I worked here for 2 years with a bachelor's degree with the promise in my interview to be moved to management if I worked hard enough. Th numbers they set and expect you to hit are absurd and so unobtainable. If these managers ever went on the phone for a day they would realize it is physically impossible. They completely lied about the willingness to promote me to management and after observing what management does I am actually happy because I would never want to treat people the way they did. Compensation - First of all I have a Bachelor's degree so I knew when I was interviewed it wasn't going to be the pay I wanted since there wasn't a managerial position open at the time. However, I am a hard worker and let them know I would be happy to work my way up - they NEVER had any intent of moving me to a higher position, it was all just corporate america nonsense (why move a hard working sales rep to a position since that would hurt our numbers). So I began at $35k a year which is extremely below what I was qualified for but was promised a raise after a year. I should mention that I also bar tend on Saturday's and make really good money on the tips (you earn what you put into it). After a year they sat me down and said what a terrific job I have done, blah blah blah, the raise they gave to me was not even $600!!!!!! They made this seem like it was so much money and I was sitting there in disbelief, I literally make what they were offering me for the year in one good Saturday night at the restaurant. Just disgraceful and embarrassing in my opinion. The worst part about it is that nothing will ever change. They work you like dogs and don't ever give you credit for your work. The home office will send some executives to the office every now and then which they call "surprise visits" however the managers are completely aware of the visits and act COMPLETELY different. So its sad but nothing will ever change because their bosses will never be able to see how the poor employees are truly treated by these young arrogant kids. I found a new job and thankfully was able to drop this place like a bad habit and have never been so happy to leave a job. I would literally wake up every morning and almost cry at the thought of going to this place. Cannot explain how happy I am to never step foot in the door again.

Pros

Community, career development, and growth opportunities are just a few of the things that make this a great place to work. The environment is both fun and challenging, creating space for individuals and teams to stay engaged while continuing to grow. Choosing Amica as my employer was one of the best decisions I’ve made. There is a genuine level of care for employees that shows up not only in day-to-day support but also in a strong commitment to work-life balance. Leadership encourages development, recognizes contributions, and fosters an environment where people feel valued. The benefits are excellent, and overall, it’s an organization where you can build a meaningful and lasting career.

Cons

I don't have any cons to mention.

Pros

Nearly all remote work for most (some are 100% remote). Some still hybrid if you are unfortunate to live close to a branch. They try to keep work life balance there for you. Most management (some do not) actually care for you personally. For the industry, caseloads are manageable (still tough job).

Cons

They are slowly becoming more and more controlling in how you work. The new phone system that is coming in (Genesis) is "big brother" listening in and monitoring your day-to-day activities to make sure you are in fact working. NOT A GOOD FEELING! It started with front line staff and now they seem to be rolling it out to their tenured adjuster staff. They should let the fact that we are settling claims show for itself. They say it is "training." I say it is intrusive and fosters a feeling of mistrust. Can't wait to retire! I love what I do, but don't like the trend I am seeing and feeling.
