Pros

Meaningful ERG culture, and lots of opportunity to work creatively to solve problems.

Cons

-After working for a long time remotely, had an opportunity to work in office for the first time. I walk up and say that it’s great to finally meet in person and they respond in a cold way in front of four other leaders -Makes nonsensical statements, ok team let’s rift about sales development, we need to increase our conversionality through inentionality, what’s your solution? -Doesn’t ask questions, no skip to slide 7, see you say abc but I say xyz, goes on about xyz, trouble is, it’s all based on a misunderstanding of the slide, didn’t bother to ask questions first to ensure understanding -Makes contradictory statements, don’t speak with the managers about that, they’re busy, and then later on, why didn’t you speak with the managers about that? -Right after busting my tail and delivering my first presentation, dm on slack, you made zero impact on the global team, you don’t even care -A new mother felt pressured to work an event, and her only viable option was to bring her newborn along. She had a full enablement workload after taking a red eye to the event and was given no support or resources to pump for her baby. -Looking at a pregnant applicant’s LinkedIn profile, we probably shouldn’t hire her, she’s pregnant, so she clearly doesn’t have her priorities straight -You know, in some rural english towns it’s still legal to shoot an irishman on sight, it’s a good law -Later on, because of challenges we’ve discussed earlier this is the end of our relationship, no performance plan or documented performance feedback was ever provided to me. They leave after 5 minutes with no opportunity for follow-up questions. After my computer and work phone apps lock a few minutes later, I realize that I don’t have the contact info for my HR rep. -My partner and I are very concerned because my family is on Anaplan benefits, my eight-year-old is about to go on medically urgent and very expensive growth hormone medications, and we don’t know the ramification details to our health plan.

Feedback is a key part of our culture at Anaplan, so thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We are very proud of the transformative work that is underway at the company and the results speak for themselves. In a recent employee survey, approximately 90% of our employees indicated they have a positive outlook about the company’s future. We can only get this type of feedback if we are doing the hard work to clearly articulate our new strategy, live our values and execute on our priorities with discipline. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. - Carey Pellock, CPO

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
