Pros

Good benefits and lots of expertise available

Cons

Edmonton office is absolutely terrible on the sales side - they don’t abide by any of the company rules and standards. They transfer files without asking and going through proper channels, they don’t use any of Aons systems and rely on paper files and they take on accounts well below the minimum revenue threshold so they can get a commission and then transfer them, leaving you with the problem. The broking team in that office was okay but sales stunk. They would all likely be selling used cars in they weren’t at Aon.

Pros

Great role to transition into the insurance industry. Many resources and opportunities to expand technical knowledge. Client visits are great if you like to travel. Lucky to have a manager who doesn’t micromanage. If you’re organized, driven, and good at communicating you’ll do great.

Cons

Can be stressful at times around busy renewal cycles. Travel often depending on industry and clients.
