Pros

Aon has a lot of automation so it is easy to get information on their intranet. They have a good mentoring network you can sign up for and very good benefits.

Cons

Affinity was one of the companies Aon had aquired. The management was incompetent and told us that they were behind us, believed in our branch growing, etc. However, they made some very bad business decisions and used us to deal with our angry clients. Then, once the situation had been contained they laid all of us off, except for the incompetent managers.

Large company does mean that Tech/HR support usually involves an 800 number and call center.

Pros

Great role to transition into the insurance industry. Many resources and opportunities to expand technical knowledge. Client visits are great if you like to travel. Lucky to have a manager who doesn’t micromanage. If you’re organized, driven, and good at communicating you’ll do great.

Cons

Can be stressful at times around busy renewal cycles. Travel often depending on industry and clients.
