Many of the people are very talented and truly care about their work and the quality of the programs/courses they are creating.
Cons
Management is generally very poor. The corporate management was hired 10+ years ago with the idea that they could continue the corporation's growth through acquisitions. The plan did not work, but the management team had no other ideas. Now they are letting marketing run the ship with the idea that they can offer endless certificates, rather than degrees, and people will be breaking down the doors. They won't listen to veterans who saw that plan fail 15 years ago. When new ideas are presented, they are ignored. Local management is not much better. While there are a few exceptions, most managers have been promoted to their positions due to seniority and with no talent or training as managers. The inept management leads to a dissatisfied work force. Recently, the company's flagship, the University of Phoenix, was put on Notice by the Higher Learning Commission. Management has done nothing to address the concurs of the HLC and, in fact, have the situation worse. If things are not drastically changed, University of Phoenix will lose its accreditation. When that happens, the company will quickly die.
