Pros

The company is a well-known global brand. The compensation is just average. The only technical strength lies in the teams in Taiwan and Korea, not in this local team

Cons

1. Ineffective Local Management: The local management team at this branch operates with a bureaucratic mindset and lacks the necessary technical background in the semiconductor industry. There is zero support for the engineers. Instead of guidance, the leadership demands blind obedience, creating a suppressed atmosphere. 2. Communication Barriers: There are significant communication issues within the local leadership. The level of English proficiency among some management members is surprisingly low for a US-based global company. This creates unnecessary hurdles in cross-regional collaboration. 3. Hostile Work Environment: Instead of fostering talent, the management uses unethical tactics to push capable team members out. This "constructive dismissal" approach has caused a significant brain drain. I fear that the Global HQ is completely unaware of the actual financial and talent losses occurring here. 4. HR Negligence: The HR department is complicit through inaction. When team members reported toxic behaviors, HR turned a blind eye and merely suggested "more communication" instead of intervening. There is zero protection for employees. 5. Final Warning: To anyone considering joining this branch: Be careful. It operates with a rigid, old-school bureaucratic mindset that does not reflect the global company's values.

Pros

This is a company with a great future and overall many smart and talented work colleagues.

Cons

There are pockets of poorly managed teams and the Global Sourcing and Procurement Team is one of them. Working for GSP was a soul crushing experience. On a regular basis, I witnessed and experienced mobbing, gaslighting, bullying, senior leaders retaliating and weaponizing the 360 feedback program for their own personal gain, senior leaders taking credit for other peoples work, long tenured leaders abusing their relationships within HR, regular staff crying and people admitting to seeking professional help due to the toxic work environment…ptsd in GSP is real. And to top it off, Applied’s most senior leadership have known of these issues for years.
