Don't do it - Service Professional Aptive Environmental Employee Review

Pros

One. Company vehicle, that's it.

Cons

Grueling work in all and any weather, Nepotism runs rampant, and they don't care at all about their customer base. The reps are encouraged to lie to make the sale. The pesticides used are over diluted for longevity, and sales reps will say they kill chipmunks and even squirrels, even though they do not have a wildlife license. They've lost their BBB accreditation due to shady customer practices. The sales force works as a pyramid scheme, taking young kids, using them to lie to make sales, and the top rep gets commission off of every sale that kid makes. These kids end up going home early half the time because they can't afford the rent that Aptive takes from their checks for the luxury apartments they put them in, and if you suck at sales, you can't afford to stay and continue to sell for them. This place is managed by the MLM capital of the universe, and they will work you to death and give you a 12 cent raise every year. Joke of a company.

Pros

Stepped Training & Weekly Classes: Management is great about not overwhelming you. We learn new technology one step at a time, and we have weekly team classes to make sure everyone has the information "down pat" before moving on. Veteran Mentorship: This company truly values experience. They lean on veteran technicians to walk new employees through every step of the process so they aren't left alone on a route until they are 100% comfortable. Customer Loyalty: Our "Reduced Risk" approach (using botanical-based pyrethrins and EPA-approved treatments) is high-quality. I’ve seen that even when customers leave for other options, they almost always come running back once they realize the value of our service. Collaborative Bonus Culture: We have monthly bonuses, and we actually help each other hit them. In our meetings, if one tech finds a better way to hit a goal, they share it so the whole "family" can maximize their earnings. Strong Communication: You are never on an island. There is constant contact and support between co-workers, supervisors, and manageme

Cons

Adapting to Change: The industry moves fast and the technology is always evolving. It takes a professional mindset to stay on top of the weekly classes and new mobile systems. Physical Energy: This is a high-energy field role. It requires daily stamina and a strong work ethic to manage the routes effectively and keep up with the pace.
