Pros

1. Management is willing to give you extra hours because they are busy giving their family members time off. 2. You can eat the exact same thing every single day -- great if you're a single palate person. 3. You get all the fun of paying union fees, without actually ever having a union there to represent you! Awesome, right? 4. Continually disappointing students by either not having certain products repeatedly (soy milk for lactose intolerant students) or, having to tell them you have the product but it's been in the fridge for 4 months and is no longer good.

Cons

The Aramark I work for, which I will not disclose the location of, is terribly mismanaged, addled with in-family hiring which leads to an extremely poor, substandard set of employee's who unfortunately will never see reprimand for their behavior which is often despicable, not only to other employee's but students as well. The cook cannot be blamed for the terrible food that is served, they can only cook so much and do so well with items bought in bulk and frozen for months at a time. The meal options and menus are pathetic and non-rotary. Who wants to eat the same thing every weekend?

Pros

Travel opportunities. Former corporate management was extremely supportive and good to work with. Free food. Free drama.

Cons

Work life balance. Don’t be a mother to young children if you want to work here. Verbal communication vs. what you get in an email will be contradictory….the gaslighting was unbelievable. Digital metric systems put in place by new corporate management has taken all the creativity and actual management out of the job. Will be mad at you if you don’t make the numbers they want to see, but will provide zero guidance on how best to do so. Hours were extremely long in order to complete all job responsibilities. New upper management is inflexible to specific account needs. Each account is different. HR does not help you - they protect the company. If you need to terminate an employee - they make it impossible.
