Pros

Benefits are very good. The health & dental insurance options are very good and the 401K contribution % is great as well. The trick is: making it to retirement age.

Cons

Upper management here is primarily comprised of, what I like to call, "professional VP's and managers". By this, I mean most, if any, have ever spent a day working as a claim rep. They have no concept of how difficult a job it can be and it shows in their expectations and the inadequate tools they provide to their employees to get their jobs done. The claim's computer system is fairly new but was outdated from day #1. It's slow, error prone and goes down faster than the Titanic did when it hit the iceberg. Claim staff has been slashed to the bare minimum which leads to a heavy, heavy workload for each claim rep. Employees here are pushed to the limit and expected to work extra hours: evenings & weekends (without pay) to stay current on their work. I've seen other posts on here from alleged employees claiming Arbella provides its employees a great work-life balance and that they have "no cons to speak of" when discussing this company. These are fake posts!!!! Don't believe a word of it!!!! Who has ever heard of a company with no cons whatsoever? Even a great company has some areas on which they can improve. This company is also notorious for terminating long time employees for the most heinous crime of reaching middle age. They "turn and burn" its employees. In closing, if you like to be overworked, underpaid, stressed 24/7 and unable to enjoy your home life because your job creeps into your time off, then Arbella Insurance is the place for you!!!

Pros

- I joined Arbella right out of school and 30 years later I couldn’t be happier. I love being part of this organization and enjoy coming to work every day. - Arbella puts a lot of emphasis on their employees. Employee engagement is important to them. They are always looking for feedback to ensure everyone is getting what they need. If a change is needed, they are not afraid to make it. - Work life balance is something that is important to me and Arbella feels strongly about it as well. It is not just a slogan to them; it is something they stand by. - Advancement opportunities - Arbella’s benefit packages are second to none. There are several different options available, especially if you have a family (health insurance, 401K, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, eye care, life insurance, etc…)

Cons

- Working in claims can be fast paced and requires you to think on your feet and make decisions quickly. Although I personally enjoy this type of work, it may not be for everyone.

Pros

Extremely supportive environment to a point. Your managers will mentor you if you show an interest. Upward mobility is very possible if you set your mind to it. Employees are definitely made to feel important. Overall good morale. If you put the work in, you will succeed. Middle management seems to really care (in my experience). CEO extremely friendly and down to Earth with everyone which made me feel welcomed. Amazing benefits and PTO.

Cons

Low pay. Most of the years I worked there my pay was fairly low. I did receive a few special bonuses, and once promoted the last time my pay did increase to something reasonable but not enough to match the work. Most middle management is very decent, but upper management does not give a good vibe and is often not even friendly. There is a cliquey vibe at times and I would not really feel comfortable going to HR or upper management for anything, just my managers.
