Pros

Nice building and facilities. Nice cafeteria, parking garage and gym. Most of the workers (non-managers) are friendly.

Cons

Ok...here are the FACTS....This company is lead by a number of senior leaders that have been grandfathered into their positions, with no college degrees or creditable experience. The company has automation similar to that of a 3rd world operations. The staff are forced to tick mark the amount of work they process on a daily basis. All policies with this company are in paper file format. The office is filled with walls and walls of paper files. They still use typewriters on a daily basis. Given that most of the senior leaders are in there positions without college degrees, they are threatened by anyone that could potentially replace them with more appropriate credentials. This company is constantly in a "FIX IT " mode, with no written procedures or manuals. Most of the leaders at this company are trained at using certain talk tracks that hide the true inner workings of the operations. Their payroll is managed by an outside, 3rd party vendor that renders paper checks to the workers. If you should dare to work at this company, you will use carbon paper to complete your benefit paperwork.. The culture of this company is cult like...As long as you go along with the disorganization, without offering any advise for change, you may survive. If you come to the organization with new ideas and motivation...your days will be numbered....They have a hi turnover rate...STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.....

Pros

- I joined Arbella right out of school and 30 years later I couldn’t be happier. I love being part of this organization and enjoy coming to work every day. - Arbella puts a lot of emphasis on their employees. Employee engagement is important to them. They are always looking for feedback to ensure everyone is getting what they need. If a change is needed, they are not afraid to make it. - Work life balance is something that is important to me and Arbella feels strongly about it as well. It is not just a slogan to them; it is something they stand by. - Advancement opportunities - Arbella’s benefit packages are second to none. There are several different options available, especially if you have a family (health insurance, 401K, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, eye care, life insurance, etc…)

Cons

- Working in claims can be fast paced and requires you to think on your feet and make decisions quickly. Although I personally enjoy this type of work, it may not be for everyone.

Pros

Extremely supportive environment to a point. Your managers will mentor you if you show an interest. Upward mobility is very possible if you set your mind to it. Employees are definitely made to feel important. Overall good morale. If you put the work in, you will succeed. Middle management seems to really care (in my experience). CEO extremely friendly and down to Earth with everyone which made me feel welcomed. Amazing benefits and PTO.

Cons

Low pay. Most of the years I worked there my pay was fairly low. I did receive a few special bonuses, and once promoted the last time my pay did increase to something reasonable but not enough to match the work. Most middle management is very decent, but upper management does not give a good vibe and is often not even friendly. There is a cliquey vibe at times and I would not really feel comfortable going to HR or upper management for anything, just my managers.
