Gender inequality in pay, no compensation for overtime, low salary. I was paid 30% less than my male colleagues with the same credentials. I was paid less than a dollar more than part time staff who had no cridentials. Expected to work 50 hour weeks and not compensated whatsoever. Upon leaving I was told that I shouldn’t even be paid at all. I was doing the majority of the arrangements and embalming. Was told I was lucky to have a job there. I was promised to receive a portion of my tuition for education from the company. I never received it. I was told when I started that my wages would increase to the original agreement when I was hired and they never increased it. When I asked for a raise I was told no they couldn’t afford it. I was making the same amount as a cashier at Costco with 7 years of experience and education to back for a multi million dollar company, and since I was a woman they seemed to believe it was acceptable to continue to under pay me. They viewed me as a number.
