Pros
It's difficult to think of any positive aspects, but I think much depends on the management at individual locations. The commission rates are very good BUT... (see Cons)
Cons
This is a national company with an excellent product, but they don't do any reasonable advertising - nothing national or regional. As a sales rep, you're expected to work from leads that have been recycled for, in some cases, 20 years! Far too much time is spent trying to FIND qualified leads without any help from the Company. The sales mentality is so far behind the times, and being straight commission, this directly affects a reps ability to earn a decent living. Training is also laughable, again, depending on your location. Arbor axed a huge portion of their branch admin staff last year, so you can forget any reasonable level of administrative sales support. Oh, and you'll also have to supply your own files folders, stapler, paper clips, etc.! Truly unbelievable!! This may not be the case at all branches, but the lack of sales support speaks volumes about the overall corporate management when they allow this type of branch management. What this company doesn't seem to grasp is that without SALES, they don't have a business. There is so much Arbor could do to lessen the high employee turnover and increase sales, but it will require a major paradigm shift, starting at the executive level, and I don't see that happening any time soon.
